VOICE UP

Advocacy participatory video workshops

Giving a voice to disadvantaged teenagers. Co-creating a documentary on human rights, under the auspices and funding of the Greek Ministry of Culture.

We give a camera to teenagers to Voice UP, and to express their opinions and experiences around children’s human rights. Greeks and refugees from downtown Athens follow our participatory video workshops and co-create a 25-minute documentary to make their issues visible and offer opportunities for dialogue.

Projected during our open event in December 2021, our adolescent participants advocate for their rights, raise awareness, and open the floor to intercultural dialogue. The discussion was followed by a concert with young refugee musicians from West Africa.

Implemented under the auspices and funding of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports,
from the division of "Cultural actions for children and adolescents".

An advocacy participatory video co-created by Greek & refugee adolescents from downtown Athens, defending their rights. A raising awareness campaign aiming at promoting inclusive art, intercultural dialogue, and social inclusion of vulnerable youth. Teens learn about human rights, storytelling, and video-making. Teens that advocate and impACT !

We appreciate your contribution

Together we can empower this project!

If you are working with adolescents in schools or in the field of human rights, you might want us to reproduce this participatory, creative, advocacy experience with your group of teens. We can also organize a Voice UP screening & debate event.
