Dauda Conteh (Sierra Leone) is a dancer (African dance, modern, acrobatics) and musician (djembe, doudoun, ngoni). From an early age he was a member of the National Dance Troupe of Sierra Leone, with which he has participated in festivals in Africa (Gambia, Senegal, Ghana), Europe (Italy, Poland, Spain) and Turkey.
He teaches African dances and percussion to children and adults. He has participated in the “Sacred Drums of the Earth” at the Dora Stratou Theater, 2012-2013 (dance, acrobatics), in the performance “The Quiet Voice” of the Athens Festival with choreographer Ermira Goro as dancer (contemporary) and percussion (music: Nikos Kypourgos), and in many other appearances throughout Greece (Simio Theater, Bollywood Festival 2014, Byron College Cultural Festival, Fringe Festival, African Cultural Festival, etc.).
He was a member of the music and dance group Troupe Emma Ya and one of the main founders of the Watoto Afrika club. He is now a member of the UBUNTU Drum & Dance Group and the cultural group, Vana Ba Afrika. With Diversity United Dauda keeps on teaching African dance and percussion, contributes to the music and contemporary dance workshops we organize, as well as to our cultural events. He participated in our Walking in Light site specific performance as a dancer and musician.
